John Gorka

Last week I had the pleasure of seeing John Gorka, one of my musical heroes. It was a generous two set performance in a quaint store front music hall. I was pleased that the show had numerous songs from my favorite Gorka album, Jack's Crows. This was surprising as he has released numerous albums since its release. The newest material was pretty good, better live than on the CD I purchased. I like John with just the guitar and not the extras you can do in studio, however, I know that is part of the fun of making a record. I spoke with him after the show and found him to be kind and affable. He asked me if I still played... not enough John, not like I used to dream about. I'm grateful he has been able to do so. Life has a sound track and John's songs are a part of mine.
